At the heart of CS2 are four directors with almost 20 years’ experience working together as a unit – initially for industry giant Lambert Smith Hampton – now for their own independent company.

Andrew Mather
Andrew runs CS2’s Milton Keynes office and has extensive experience focusing on new build, repair and refurbishment, and acquisition survey work.

He believes building surveying goes beyond mere bricks and mortar, and gets great satisfaction from helping businesses increase their profitability and productivity.

He says: “A lot of what I do involves understanding a client’s business and strategic approach. When I’m involved at an early stage of its development, I can contribute to how a building’s design can improve a business’ efficiency.”

David Jay
David has spent his entire career in the property industry. His particular area of expertise is in the field of dilapidations and negotiating claims between landlords and tenants.

He believes CS2’s success is built on the company’s ability to provide solutions for clients with the minimum of fuss. A consistently high quality of work, too, has helped to gain business from referrals from other surveying companies, keen to recommend CS2’s specialist skills to their clients.

David says: “Negotiating settlements for our clients in dilapidations claims and disputes is the really stimulating part of our job. I particularly enjoy the psychology involved in negotiations and achieving the best possible outcome for our client.”

Mike Gregory
Mike is an experienced project manager who can point to a string of successfully-completed buildings across the UK as his track record.

Enthusiasm and reliable delivery are the two key factors he looks for when hiring contractors for his projects – and he believes clients value the same qualities in CS2’s work.

“Being a building surveyor means you do all sorts of things and act in all sorts of different roles,” says Mike. “We are a very enthusiastic company and by taking on a project from start to finish we can free our clients to concentrate on what they do best – their core business.”

Vince Owen
Vince combines a wealth of experience from his long career as a surveyor with the strong sense of teamwork developed on the rugby field during his days with Leicester Tigers, Wasps and Northampton Saints.

He has seen many trends come and go in the construction industry and is delighted that today’s breed of planning officer prizes the appearance of a building as highly as the safety of its structure.

“It’s satisfying to be involved in some prestigious and aesthetically pleasing developments,” says Vince. “These days, with a greater range of materials available, even an industrial shed or warehouse can look good and help a business promote its image.”
