CS2 have been working with Mpact-Thales, the main contractor for the ongoing Metrolink line extensions in Manchester. Greater Manchester's Metrolink network is one of the most successful light railway systems in the UK carrying nearly 20 million passengers every year. In May 2009, a special fund of £1.5 billion was agreed for 15 transport schemes in Greater Manchester. These include a further extension to the South Manchester line from St Werburgh's Road to East Didsbury and a 14 mile extension to the Oldham and Rochdale line. The lines will improve transport links into the City Centre. CS2 have been appointed to undertake schedules of condition and defect analysis reports on properties along both lines, a total of 18 properties in all.
